Event information
Founded in 1904, Stellenbosch Golf Club is the fourth-oldest golf club in South Africa and celebrated its centenary in 2004. Originally a 9-hole course, it was extended to its current 18-hole championship layout in 1953.
The 6,388-yard, par-72 parkland course features kikuyu grass fairways and bent grass greens, with tree-lined holes, vineyard boundaries and mountain views across the full 18 holes. The course has hosted several major national tournaments, including the 1999 South African Open and five South African Masters events.
In 2026, Stellenbosch Golf Club was selected as the venue for the 115th Investec South African Open, recognising it as one of the country's premier championship venues. The clubhouse includes a restaurant and raised balcony with views across the course, a driving range, and facilities for corporate events. The club has received Golf Digest South Africa recognition for the Best 19th Hole Experience in South Africa for 2026.
Golf carts and caddies are available for hire, as are rental clubs. A handicap certificate is required for visitors. Soft spikes are required on the course. On-site parking is available.
