Event information
Vergelegen Wine Estate, a provincial heritage site in Somerset West, opens its themed and historic gardens for a weekend of guided spring walks. Horticulturist and gardens manager Richard Arm leads each tour, sharing the history and stories behind the plantings, along with gardening tips for the season.
The estate is known for its collection of gardens, where formal design, seasonal blooms and large old trees create a succession of distinct spaces. The route is expected to take in highlights such as the Octagonal Garden, known for its colourful herbaceous borders, and the rose gardens.
Each ticket covers entry to the estate, the guided walk, and tea or coffee with a scone at the Firehorse temporary restaurant before the tour begins.
