Event information
Solo Studios offers a unique opportunity to experience art and culture nestled in the homes, studios and galleries of Riebeek Kasteel. Throughout this weekend's gathering, attend a selection of guided walkabouts, performances, talks and food events.
On Saturday and Sunday, take part in the event's collection of guided walkabout tours, where guests can stroll through the quaint town to connect with a list of noteworthy solo artists, including Sharon Bischoff, Lizette Visser and Ade Kipades. This is an opportunity for art lovers, buyers and scholars alike to forge relationships with the artists and art spaces that are celebrated in the area.
Beyond the art on display, theatrical and musical performances are also on offer throughout the weekend. This includes, but is not limited to, award-winning multidisciplinary artist Aldo Brincat's smash hit 'The Moon Looks Delicious From Here' on Friday from 5 to 6pm, and a special closing performance on Sunday from 3.30 to 5.30pm by the Winelands Philharmonic Orchestra alongside renowned South African violinist Eriel Huang.
There are multiple locations on offer for kids activities, including putt-putt and a bike track, as well as child-friendly restaurants with play parks. Otherwise, bring the little ones along to scope out the galleries and studios.
