Event information
Norval Foundation is a registered drop-off point for the Santa Shoebox Project, inviting individuals, families, businesses, schools and community groups to prepare Christmas gifts for children in need. Each shoebox holds eight new items, spanning toys, hygiene products, clothing and sweets, which the project then passes to selected beneficiary children.
The Santa Shoebox Project is a Cape Town-founded non-profit that has run since 2006. It also offers a virtual shoebox option for people who can't get to a drop-off point.
Anyone planning to take part should pledge a shoebox through the project's website first, which also sets out the packing requirements for each box. Boxes are then dropped off at the Foundation during opening hours until the closing date.
Norval Foundation has hosted the drop-off in previous years, with boxes accepted at the museum in the weeks before the final collection date. Free parking is available on site for the first thirty minutes.
