Event information
The South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind provides services to persons with visual, physical or developmental needs through training Guide Dogs, Service Dogs, and Autism Support Dogs, or Orientation and Mobility.
Through these services, the organisation has immeasurably improved the lives of many people and given them freedom of independence, mobility, and companionship.
The organisation welcomes volunteers that can assist with selling merchandise and raffle tickets as well as taking donations from members of the public at:
-Shopping Malls
-Markets
-Expos
The organisation has also developed the Puppy Raising program to provide South African Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind with dogs who are well prepared for both advanced training and their future work as Guide, Service and Autism Support Dogs.
Volunteers can foster puppies for the first 16 – 18 months of the puppy’s life. They are responsible for socialising and caring for the puppy – this is a time-consuming, but rewarding task.
