Event information
Springbok Arms hosts Rocktober, a night showcasing Cape Town's underground punk scene across three acts spanning different corners of the genre. LLSO opens with a mix of skatepunk, melodic hardcore and ska, formed in 2023 by veterans of the local punk scene with roots reaching back to 1995, including former members of Vendetta Cartel, Lat Patrollie, Fungy Gone West and New World Inside.
Housedads follow with a three-piece pop-punk set built on nostalgic, high-energy songwriting, while The McClones close out the night with an acoustic punk-alternative sound drawing on influences including The Clash, the Pogues and Sublime, with roots in the Wynberg Sports Club music scene through former bands Three Chord Theory and Mitsoo.
Springbok Arms has operated as a live music venue and bar in Observatory since 1998, with a history of hosting South African acts including Fokofpolisiekar, Jack Parow and Freshlyground across various eras of ownership.
The night carries an age restriction of no under 18s, with limited tickets available.
