Robertson Horse Adventures offers horse riding experiences for visitors of all ages and abilities, set against the scenic backdrop of Robertson’s countryside. Trails traverse vineyards, orchards, riverbanks, and mountains, providing a unique way to explore the area’s natural beauty.
The Vineyard Trail is a beginner-friendly route that takes riders through vineyards at a leisurely pace, suitable for all ages, including children as young as two. The Long Slow Trail offers a gentle, two-hour ride through diverse terrains, perfect for beginners seeking a more extended experience. For intermediate riders, the Almond Trail features sandy stretches ideal for trotting, while confident riders can enjoy the River Trail, which includes long stretches for trotting and cantering along the Breede River. Each horse is carefully matched to the rider, and young children are guided on lead reins for added safety.
Riding lessons are available for beginners and intermediate riders, focusing on horsemanship and riding skills. Lessons range from quick grooming and basic techniques for young children to full-hour sessions covering walking, trotting, and cantering, with opportunities for fun local show participation. Short pony rides through orchards and vineyards are offered for younger children, allowing them to learn the basics while having fun.
Additional activities include equine-assisted therapy, which provides gentle interactions with horses for children needing emotional or physical support. The facility also offers carriage rides for sightseeing, with the option to bring a bottle of wine to enhance the experience. Pony rides for preschools are available, with calm ponies selected for safety and enjoyment.
