The newly opened Rare Gallery, located on Bree Street, is a unique space where visitors are both observers of and participants in artistic expression.
The venue has three distinct spaces: a traditional gallery space where vivid artworks are displayed against the contrast of white walls, one where visitors can explore curated fashion with a street aesthetic and a micro tattoo parlour where visitors can become the canvas.
In terms of the gallery, new artists are showcased every two months and the current exhibition features work by Gavin Thomson, Nicola Roos, Fhatuwani Mukheli, Buqaqawuli Nobakada and others. The Rare Luxury section sells fashion created by the gallery's founder (Rare Mode) as well as the work from African talent alongside Balenciaga, Cartier, Dior, Palm Angels and other top names.
Rare Gallery is open five days a week and artists are welcome to submit their portfolios for consideration to [email protected] or [email protected].
