This hotel occupies a Cape Dutch manor house dating to approximately 1880, situated on grounds that have been settled since the 1660s. Part of the Marriott Bonvoy collection under the Protea Hotels brand, the property opened as a hotel in February 2015, becoming the first Protea Hotel in the southern suburbs. The site borders the Liesbeek River with Table Mountain visible in the background.
The 70-room property comprises the historic manor house, which serves as reception, lounge and restaurant space, plus an adjacent thatched building converted from the original barn. Accommodation options include 46 standard studio rooms, 12 one-bedroom suites, six two-bedroom suites, and six barn loft suites featuring lounges on the ground level with mezzanine bedrooms. Rooms feature air conditioning, flat-screen satellite television, kitchenettes with refrigerators and microwaves, private bathrooms with baths or showers, safes, and separate sitting areas.
The property received a TripAdvisor Travelers Choice Award in 2021.
