Event information
Slow-proofed dough and high heat ovens define this Cape Town pizza group specialising in contemporary Neapolitan style pizzas served in charming neighbourhood shops in Observatory, Cape Town City Centre's Bree St and St James.
Founders James Williams and Tando Bavuma developed the concept during the Covid 19 pandemic, focusing on Pizza Canotto, a style noted for its taller, air filled crust. Menus include tomato and mozzarella classics alongside options featuring mortadella, burrata, prosciutto and hot honey. Every base is mixed and rested through an extended fermentation of 72 hours before being baked in wood fired ovens at very high temperatures for a soft, elastic crumb.
Seating spans the rooftop level in Observatory, pavement side tables on Bree Street and a Main Road setting in St James, with both sit down and takeaway service available.
The Obs and St James venues host occasional events, and are also available for venue hire for weddings and parties.
