In 2003, Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus opened the Pearl Valley golf course.
Nicklaus is renowned world-wide for his golf courses and this Western Cape creation was recognised as the world’s best golf course in 2005. In typical Golden Bear fashion, the course features vast expanses of sand and is tailored towards a risk and reward style of golf. Water hazards and shrubland line the fairways placing an emphasis on the ability to keep the ball in play rather than on sheer power.
The Pearl Valley Hotel is a luxury establishment, forming part of the award-winning Val de Vie Estate - recognised for its polo facilities and other world-class amenities. Set in the picturesque Paarl-Franschhoek Valley, the Estate is an approximate 35-minute drive from both Cape Town and Cape Town International Airport.
