Pato Tours provides various tours and experiences of the Hout Bay community and townships. The tours are led by Ricky and Mhinti: a couple who are passionate about community development, leadership and tourism.
Established in 2008, Pato Tours aim to empower youth, inspire entrepreneurship and create jobs. The couple, both of whom are qualified tour guides, are accompanied by young trainees as they lead the tours, which are tailormade for each group.
Tours include the history, schools, and small businesses of the Imizamo Yethu township and can be expanded to include a trip to Mama Miriam’s home for lunch. The Sunday Vibez & Tshisa Nyama experience is a chance to attend a local church service and enjoy live music and South African cuisine at a Tshisa Nyama (public barbeque).
