The Park Lines South African BMX Freestyle Championships see BMX Freestyle riders from across South Africa gather to compete for the national titles.
The contest showcases the very best in creativity, progression and technical skill as riders push the limits with a variety of tricks and stunts in pursuit of championship points and their share of the prize purse. Invited riders compete in the Pro Division, while emerging talent showcase their abilities in the Amateur Division.
Riders compete for valuable Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Points that help enable them to qualify for the 2026 BMX Freestyle World Championships to be held in November. Judges evaluate performances based on use of park, tricks variation, style, difficulty and amplitude to determine which competitors advance to the Finals.
The tournament concludes with the exciting Best Trick Competition, open to all competitors. Riders have their chance to throw down their biggest tricks in a jam style format competition.
BMX lovers will also be happy to know that 2025 South African Champion, Johannesburg’s Vincent Leygonie, is competing to defend his title. To date, Park Lines has produced six South African champion and one Olympian.
