Jazzart Dance Theatre's 2026 Artistic Residents present Our Bodies Remember, a double bill of new contemporary works at the Artscape Theatre. The programme pairs Unveil, choreographed by Chesney Stanfield, with Ancient Souls, choreographed by Lihle Mfene.
Unveil centres on the courage required to confront one's true self and embrace change, while Ancient Souls moves through a more abstract space where memory, healing and purpose intersect. Both choreographers have previously danced with Jazzart's main company, with Mfene's earlier work Battlefield having been staged at the JOMBA! Contemporary Dance Experience in Durban.
The double bill continues Jazzart's practice of developing new choreographic voices through its Artistic Residency programme, giving emerging choreographers within the company a platform to present full-length original work rather than shorter festival excerpts.
The production runs 90 minutes including a 30-minute interval, and carries no age restriction.
