Local folk and alternative musician, Richard Liefeldt aka Dr Lovefield, invites some of his musical friends along with him to headline the sixth show in the new Texx and the City's event series, On The Record powered by Shure.
On The Record is all about celebrating sounds and the stories and inspirations behind them, centering each performance around the Music as well as the Storytelling element attached to it. Taking place at The Outlore Base in Cape Town, the venue is transformed and styled for each show to reflect the mood, but most importantly, the tale that each musician wants to tell.
Dr. Lovefield is an original member of three-piece psychedelic rock band, Retro Dizzy. Since adopting a solo career, the musician has expanded his musical sound, exploring folk and alternative genres in his newer work. Though on occasion, he reunites with his original Retro Dizzy band members to play some of their old hits together.
Dr. Lovefield and his special guests craft an illuminating, introspective set that takes guests on a journey, explaining the stories behind their most celebrated songs.
