Event information
While the entertainment industry continues to reboot in a Post-COVID world, a dynamic and diverse group of artists are gathering in aid of the Cancer Association of South Africa.
Joining the group are two dynamic women, with the voices of literal angels.
The up-and-coming Keziah Williams, who can be seen entertaining audiences across Cape Town, is renowned both as a songwriter and as a singer. Her cover songs have a unique flair, which is the driving force behind her success. Born and bred in Cape Town, Keziah appeared as a guest vocalist on The Expresso Show last year and is the lead singer of two local bands.
Another one to watch is Joelle Kouakoua, a student at Rainbow Academy, one of the supporters of this upcoming charity event. This vocal powerhouse is joined on stage by lecturer and music legend in his own right, Fleur Du Cap award-winner, Godfrey Johnson.
In what promises to be a night of joyous music, creative passion, and positivity, Compass Rose Collective has curated a line-up of sensational artists who won’t disappoint.
Nicola Hetz, co-director of Compass Rose Collective: “In a difficult time in history, it is up to us artists to do good. Through trial, success, and error, our team has put fundraising at the forefront of what we do. This time, we’ve gathered a diverse and experienced group of musicians and artists for a show that’s quite different to anything we’ve done before. The artists’ collective passion for music has culminated in something quite spectacular."
Hosting the evening is cerebral comedian and MC Thato Mabelane. After a recent successful performance of her one woman show, '3rd Generation Coconut' at Grahamstown Arts Festival (currently being performed in Johannesburg), and subsequently hosting the Ovation Awards, Thato is bound to keep the crowd entertained between musical numbers.
The Musical Soiree in aid of CANSA also features eclectic composer and art musician Wesley Wolhuter on cello, Compass Rose Collective’s co-director Heine J. van As on guitar, and a debut performance by Avi Ramgoolman who is passionate about the cause.
Thanks to an amazing sponsorship, guests will be treated to a welcome drink from Groot Constantia Wine and can stand a chance of winning a wine tour of the vineyard for 6, valued at R3600.
