Event information
Established in 1962, the Pretoria Bach Choir (PBC) works to preserve, enjoy and share the cultural heritage of sacred choral music by performing works of the Great Masters.
The event features the PBC performing Mozart’s Requiem, Coronation Mass and Piano Concerto No. 20 under the baton of Edwin Mitas, who serves as PBC's artistic director and resident conductor. A seasoned musician, Edwin was also a principal clarinettist with the South African Air Force Band and has performed on prestigious stages, including international tours and national ceremonial events.
The choir is accompanied by an orchestra of 31 professional instrumental artists, including Mienke Albertse as the solo pianist. There are also over 50 voices participating in the event, including vocal soloists Ilze van Staden as soprano, Megan Napier as alto, Chris Mostert as tenor and Ayanda Matiwane as bass.
