Event information
Monkeyland KZN is one of the first free-roaming multi-specie primate sanctuary parks in the world. The sanctuary offers tours and experiences to help create a better appreciation for the often misunderstood primates and teaches visitors about the ecological threats they are facing.
A Monkeyland tour starts with a drive on a safari vehicle from the reception to the hidden forest, where guests are taken on a guided walking tour as guides help find the many species of primates that roam in the park. Primates to be seen in the forest include capuchin monkeys, buff-cheeked gibbons, squirrel monkeys, lemurs, black howler monkeys and spider monkeys.
Moneyland has many natural wonders and sights to encounter during their walking tour in the forest. All the monkeys roam freely in their forest home and are not caged or kept in enclosures as animal rights protection is a key value in the park. Monkeyland KZN is a family-friendly eco-attraction where guests and the primates are safe. They have a strict no-touching policy in the sanctuary but welcome taking photos and videos.
The sanctuary is open for tours on Thursdays to Mondays and booking is advised to avoid disappointment. Comfortable closed shoes and mosquito repellant is advised.
