Event information
This unique 1-hour workshop invites participants to listen to the sounds of False Bay's marine life using silent disco headphones. During this adventure exploring the local soundscape, participants take part in a variety of creative exercises, hear poetry by local poet Toni Giselle Stuart and paint the soundscape into the updated 'MEET THE LOCALS' mural on St James Beach.
This innovative experience teaches locals and tourists more about the area's marine diversity while reminding them of the importance of sound in this aquatic environment. The movement promotes stronger awareness and responsibility for the natural world and its conservation through bioacoustics and creativity.
Funds raised from ticket sales enable the organisers to offer free workshops to local youth.
