Purple season is here and the Canettevallei Lavender and Wine Farm's popular and much anticipated annual lavender picking event returns.
Lavender picking runs through the winter months until around about the middle of October, at the peak of the spring season. The farm provides all the tools guests might need and takes them through the area, showing them where and how to pick. The activity makes for a relaxing and mood lifting experience on a peaceful farm that lies tucked away in Stellenboschkloof, a quiet valley situated about 10kms outside Stellenbosch.
After an easy session of lavender-picking, guests leave with their own fresh bunch of purple blooms. The activity is safe and fun for everyone, young and old, and there is also a shop selling lavender-based products.
