The !Khwa ttu San Culture and Education Centre hosts its annual Heritage Day festival, centred on showcasing San culture and honouring the First People of Southern Africa. The family-friendly day includes traditional dancing, craft demonstrations, indigenous food experiences and children's activities, alongside guided tours of the centre's Heritage Centre exhibits.
Visitors are encouraged to attend in their own cultural or traditional attire, framing the day as a shared celebration of South Africa's many communities rather than a single-culture showcase. Food and drink are available throughout the day to accompany the programme of activities.
!Khwa ttu operates as both an education and cultural heritage centre, dedicated to preserving and sharing San history, language and tradition with visitors from South Africa and abroad.
The centre sits roughly an hour's drive north of Cape Town on the R27, making it a full day outing rather than a short in-city visit.
