Kgaswane Mountain Reserve lies in the western end of the Magaliesberg and is famous for its breeding herd of sable antelope.
Although famed for the sable, there is a large population of other antelope such as the grey duiker, kudu, oribi, zebra and waterbuck. There are a small number of predators like the caracal, black-backed jackal and leopard. Additionally, the reserves varied rock formations and winding streams give rise to lush vegetation, making perfect grounds for predator birds such as the Cape vulture and Martial eagle.
The reserve has several day hikes or biking trails that are considered the best ways to explore the Kgaswane mountains.
