Terry De Vries is an internationally certified transformational facilitator and a labyrinth guru. She bought what was formerly the Little Samadhi Karoo Retreat: an intimate and quiet bed and breakfast found on a mountain overlooking the small village of Barrydale, along Route 62, in the Little Karoo.
De Vries refurbished the place which is now called Kamala Retreat House. While the centre already boasted a stylish yoga studio, De Vries revived it with some colour, original artworks and built a rose-quartz labyrinth. De Vries has built more than 300 labyrinths locally and abroad since 1997. With Kamala Retreat House, she extends on the venue’s long-standing wellness approach which focusses on finding stillness within.
Hatha, yoga of balance; Vinyasa, yoga of flow; Yin yoga, yoga and Kundalini yoga are taught here for both newcomers and adept yoga practitioners. Guests can enjoy group yoga retreats; specialized labyrinth retreats; nature medicine walks; shamanic breathwork; sound journey meditations and specialized retreats for body and soul replenishment.
Guests are invited to customize their retreat experience by adding extra activities which include creating a vision board; spiritual dancing and Mandala art sessions.
