François Ferreira Academy hosts a hands-on children’s cooking class built around a Mexican-inspired menu, held in the school’s professional teaching kitchen on the Garden Route. Participants prepare their own Big Mac burritos and apple and cinnamon empanadas under the guidance of the academy’s chefs, working through each recipe from start to finish.
François Ferreira Academy is an accredited culinary arts and hospitality training institute, established in 2004 and based at Mount View Resort in George. Its kids’ cooking classes give younger learners exposure to a working chef training kitchen normally used for the academy’s professional diploma and certificate courses.
The class runs as a single morning session with limited seating, positioned as a hands-on activity rather than a demonstration-only format, with children actively involved in each stage of preparation.
