Event information
One of the oldest buildings in Cape Town, this property has served as a Government Office building, the Supreme Court, and the SA Cultural History Museum before becoming a museum dedicated to exposing its original purpose: the central slave lodge of Cape Town.
An audio-guided tour, which can be rented at a nominal fee, takes visitors on a historical journey through the Slave Lodge and provides insight into the history of the slave trade in the Cape and the living conditions of the building’s former inhabitants.
