iBi Art is Isa Schwartz Gesseau’s art studio where she teaches art lessons for students, no matter their skill or level.
Classes can be done in groups or private sessions, and Gesseau sees each as a medium for healing and self-improvement, not just skill improvement. IBi Art helps students of all ages explore their creativity, and believes every individual has a vital need to express themselves.
Gesseau has been teaching for over 16 years in her studio. Classes have a new theme every weekly, meaning students never get bored with the process and repetition. Gesseau uses unique teaching processes that use the medium of mixed media. She encourages students to create real meaning in their work by using symbolism, colour, signs and words.
iBi Art also hosts educational workshops where they work with NGOs to help communities use art to communicate, teach and heal. Their studio is a platform for emerging artists to exhibit their work, collaborating with artists in South Africa and other countries. Those who prefer to use another field to express themselves can sign up for dancing classes at the studio.
Bookings can be made on their new online booking system where suitable dates and times can be selected. Lessons include charcoal and paper and any other materials may result in a surcharge.
