Event information
Operated by Adventureshop Stellenbosch since 2003, the Vine Hopper is a hop-on hop-off transport service covering three wine routes across the Stellenbosch region. Passengers purchase a day ticket and choose which estates to visit and how long to spend at each, with tasting fees paid directly at each farm.
Three routes are in operation, each visiting five to six estates. The Northern Route runs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, stopping at estates including Beyerskloof, Simonsig, Delheim, Warwick and Remhoogte, with vineyard views toward the Simonsberg. The Southern Route operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with stops including Kleine Zalze, Alto, Peter Falke, Cavalli and Blaauwklippen. The Eastern Route runs Monday to Friday along the Helshoogte Pass, visiting estates including Lanzerac, Neil Ellis, Zorgvliet and Boschendal.
Vehicles include air-conditioned minibuses and open safari vehicles; the eastern route website notes that the safari vehicle requires passengers to climb a stepladder. Advance booking of one to two days is recommended.
