Event information
High Tea at Yukon House invites guests for high tea and a tour of Yukon House. It is a house in Bezuidenhout Valley that was once home to former mayors and millionaires. The house was built in Victorian style and features marble floors, Burmese teak-clad walls and a beautiful signature Art Deco fireplace with Portuguese tiles.
The view from the Balcony overlooking Observatory ridge is considered by many to be the best in the city. The history of the home is interesting as it was built for the former Johannesburg mayor, Tommy Allen, and was declared a national monument in the 1980s. An informative historical tour can also be joined, which includes a high tea with a light finger lunch and some bubbly. It typically lasts up to 3 hours.
