Comedian Schalk Bezuidenhout brings his stand-up special Hey Hey Divorcé to The George Arts Theatre, built entirely around his own divorce following a public split in 2024. The show is framed as a personal account of single life in his thirties, described by Bezuidenhout himself as a cheaper alternative to therapy.
Bezuidenhout has built a national following through his stand-up specials, live shows and television and radio appearances, known for a style built on sharp observational humour, storytelling and self-deprecation, often drawing on his own life and South African culture for material.
Billed as likely the only show he intends to do on the subject, the hour moves between comic material and more reflective moments, giving the special an emotional register alongside its comedy.
The show carries an age restriction of no under 16s.
