Event information
A unique and innovative food-and-wine experience.
Gåte’s modern, multi-course tasting menus are designed to take diners on a multi-sensory journey. Not only are they exquisite to look at; on further exploration they reveal complex layers of flavour, aroma and texture.
The first step in creating his menu is tasting the wines. Chef Paul then identifies the complementary local, seasonal ingredients – including produce grown on the farm – and then conceptualises his characterful and delicious dishes.
The beautiful, light-filled restaurant adds another essential layer to the experience, with views of the dramatic Simonsberg Mountain casting their spell, as does the warm and attentive service.
Wines from the Quoin Rock and Namysto ranges are beautifully showcased in the Gåte menu. Diners can expect a taste of the feisty Quoin Rock white blend, the bold Quoin Rock red blend, the spicy Quoin Rock shiraz; the aromatic Namysto Rosé and the zesty Quoin Rock Vine Dried dessert wine.
There is also a five-course tasting menu (with vegan option), as well as a three-course daytime menu on Wednesday and Thursday. Instead of wine, the food can be paired with teas on request.
