Run by the team behind the hugely popular Bodega Ramen in Wale St, Ganesh occupies a longstanding Observatory spot with a refreshed interior and a compact Thai street food restaurant at the rear. The bar and front rooms preserve the venue’s role as a local meeting point for students, artists and neighbours, while service focuses on dinner through the week and extended hours on Sundays.
Menus centre on Thai flavours inspired by the owners’ travels, with small plates and curries suited to sharing. A concise cocktail selection and quarts complement the food offering.
Weekly music sessions include vinyl selectors and jazz on Thursdays from 7pm in the bar, while Sundays from 4pm focus on ambient and experimental sets accompanied by two Thai curries.
