The SA Football Association’s (Safa) Football 4 Humanity event is a series of two football exhibition matches between the Palestinian National Football team and SA Invitational XI. The events intend to encourage and reaffirm South African solidarity with Palestine as Palestinian civilians continue to suffer in Gaza.
The stadium venue has offered to waiver the charges for the two matches, whilst the city of Cape Town offers thousands in support services to ensure that the games continue smoothly. The matches come after South Africa's relative success at the International Court of Justice in aid of Palestine.
The matches are intended to send a message of peace as suffering continues in the Gaza strip. Sport is recognised as a significant medium through which to encourage solidarity and awareness.
