Troupe Theatre company in Association with Daphne Kuhn presents 'Albie Sachs: Fathers, Sons and Soft Vengeance' by Gail Louw, starring Graham Hopkins and directed by Fiona Ramsay.
The play covers the public and private life of revered South African activist, lawyer and constitutional judge, Albie Sachs. Told with warmth and humanity, the story explores family, resilience and forgiveness, and asks what soft vengeance means in a world still learning how to heal.
The play is a poetic slice of biography, told in Albie’s voice, recounting experiences of being a son, a father and an activist. It is his account as an idealistic youth, wounded survivor, devoted father and philosophical elder.
