The Cape Guild of Weavers brings the return of their innovative and exciting ExTex event - a collection of workshops for adults and kids to revive enthusiasm for textile skills like weaving, knitting, felting, spinning, dyeing and much more. The ten-day event offers multiple workshops, hosted by experienced fibre artists at the Richard Crowie Hall in Kirstenbosch.
Over 40 workshops are held, accommodating various skill levels from family friendly and beginner workshops to advanced sessions. Each workshop has its own unique focus on various different textiles. These include tapestry weaving, sock knitting, calligraphy making, embroidery art, basket and mat making, mosaic knitting, and much more.
There is also a pop-up shop bursting with all manner of felt, yarn and stunning lifestyle products and wearables for purchase, as well as daily demonstrations by Cape Guild of Weavers members on their colourful array of textile crafts and skills.
