Event information
Langa Ensemble, a newly formed vocal group from one of Cape Town's oldest townships, performs its debut show on the eve of Heritage Day. The performance blends traditional South African vocal rhythms with new, experimental arrangements, built around themes of cultural identity, community and personal purpose.
As a first public showing for the group, the evening functions as an introduction to their sound and approach rather than a full-length theatrical production, giving audiences an early look at a group still establishing its voice and repertoire.
Every ticket includes a glass of wine and finger foods, with pairs of tickets bought together earning a full bottle of wine, adding a social, gathering-style element to the performance itself.
The show is staged at 16 on Lerotholi, a venue within Langa itself, positioning the performance within the community it draws its identity from.
