Everard Read and CIRCA Galleries run a rigorous exhibition programme of established and emerging artists throughout the year exhibiting modern and contemporary art from South Africa and abroad.
The Everard Read Gallery, founded in 1996, is spread over two storeys and has a ‘classical’ feel, steering clear of the traditionally neutral white walls of other contemporary galleries. Current exhibitions are shown on the ground floor, while the first floor houses the permanent collection of works by prestigious artists such as John Meyer and Vusi Khumalo.
The CIRCA Gallery, unveiled in November 2016 across the road from the Everard Read Gallery, has added a further four exhibition spaces and an outside sculpture garden to the Everard Read/CIRCA group in the Waterfront.
