Etchings Art Gallery showcases original art, and also specializes in mirrors, prints and framing. The venture was established as a gallery and picture framing business targeting the greater Durban area.
Their products include oil paintings, watercolours, acrylic paintings, prints, mirrors, and frames both resin and wood from a wide variety of artists and suppliers.
The gallery launched in 1993 and is devoted to promoting the work of new and well-established artists. This spacious contemporary venue, founded by Garnet and Wendy Cornell, an architect and an interior designer, is focused on high quality selected pieces from inventive artists. It displays a wide selection of artists and offers advice, assisting clients, designers and decorators.
After the founding owners retired, the business was taken over by Alan Gordon and Terence Stevenson in 2018. In addition to their stock of original pieces they added a gift range, which includes ladies’ designer jewellery, cushion covers and more. Etchings has its own on-site framing workshop. They have won 1st and 10th places in at International box framing competitions. Their clientele includes loyal supporters and corporate companies.
