The collection has expanded to contemporary pieces, which can be seen in the Ellerman House Contemporary Art Gallery.
Owner of Ellerman House, Paul Harris, has a passion for art, and this can be seen in his collection of the old masters and the support he shows for up-and-coming artists in South Africa. His entire collection consists of local art spanning the last two centuries. This is visible in every room on the Relais & Chateaux property.
Guests staying at the hotel have the option of taking a tour with an art guide, or enjoying a self-guided art tour of the property. The establishment also arranges art experiences. These include private guided tours to view prominent art galleries in and around Cape Town; Art in the Winelands Experiences to Stellenbosch and Franschhoek; and art getaways curated for fine art and music enthusiasts.
