Durbanville Hills Wine Estate introduces Unfiltered Thursdaze, a new weekly after-hours experience that offers a rare glimpse into wines still in development. Set beneath the estate’s olive trees, the evening invites guests into the creative process of winemaking, where barrel samples, tank tastings, and experimental blends are shared before they are finalised.
The experience begins with a welcome pour and paired bites, followed by an informal introduction before guests are invited to explore at their own pace. Alongside additional food and wine available for purchase, visitors can engage directly with the winemaking team, settle into curated deep and melodic house music, or simply enjoy the relaxed, social atmosphere.
A highlight of the evening is “Guess the Barrel,” an interactive challenge where guests try to identify the varietal and stage of a selected barrel, with prizes awarded for correct entries. Throughout the night, members of the cellar team share insights and stories from the winemaking process, offering a behind-the-scenes perspective usually reserved for the cellar itself.
Unfiltered Thursdaze is designed to be informal, immersive, and approachable; an evening where wine, music, and conversation unfold naturally. No under-18s allowed. Booking is essential as no walk-ins are permitted.
