Event information
The Drakensberg Canopy Tour is hidden in the indigenous Drakensberg forest with a mix of cliff-face and treetop platforms for cable sliding.
More than 150 species of birds including the Bush Blackcap live in the forest which visitors can view safely, knowing that experienced guides are leading the way. All tours begin with safety instructions and gearing up with a full-body harness, pulley, gloves and safety helmet. Strict safety procedures are in place to ensure gliders are always connected to the cable or platform. The tours are informative, as guides take time to share interesting facts and stories about the ecology of the forest.
Canopy Tours is only open on weekends, however, group bookings can be arranged during the week. Tours usually last up to three hours and rain gear is provided in the event of rain.
