Event information
This Belgian-influenced restaurant on the Pierhead serves brasserie favourites and seafood alongside an extensive selection of Belgian beers. Terrace seating and floor-to-ceiling windows face the working harbour with views of Table Mountain.
Established in 1994, Den Anker is one of the longest-standing residents of the Waterfront, and has become renowned for its moules marinières, steak au poivre and fresh tuna, while house waffles with strawberries remain a signature dessert. Sourcing is seasonal and seafood availability allows for specials through the year.
The beer focuses on imports from smaller Belgian breweries. Regular taps include De Koninck, Vedett Extra White, Liefmans Fruitesse and La Chouffe, alongside the house Anker Brew and Anker Blonde. Duvel is also available on tap - a first for Africa. A broader list of bottled Belgian styles complements the selection.
