Mushroom lovers and nature enthusiasts have the opportunity to experience a weekend dedicated to foraging for wild mushrooms in the forests of the renowned Delheim Wine Estate in Stellenbosch with an expert guide. Over both foraging days, guests also get to experience various culinary delights accompanied by the Estate’s award-winning wines.
Both days follow the same programme, which comprises a practical guide to mushroom identification followed by a foraging session in the Delheim woods. The day ends with a three-course lunch at the Delheim Restaurant which includes tasty mushroom-related options, with plenty of opportunities for tasting and enjoying the estate’s range of exceptional wines.
For the forage, guests should dress for possible chilly weather – a rain jacket and good walking/hiking boots or shoes. They are also encouraged to bring a basket and a small pocketknife for collecting.
