The Darling Wildflower Show returns for its annual three-day run, marking more than a century of celebrating the region's floral heritage since its first show in 1917. Hosted by the Darling Wildflower Society alongside the Darling Sport Club, the festival draws farmers, botanists, artists and visitors from across the country to Darling's flower-viewing season.
The centrepiece is a landscaped Wildflower Exhibition and Species Table, showcasing the intricate and threatened ecosystems that define Darling's botanical landscape, including renosterveld, sandveld, strandveld, and vlei and wetland habitats. Conservation talks and guided wildflower walks led by local ecologists and botanists run throughout the weekend, with bookings essential for the walks.
Beyond the botanical programme, the show includes market stalls, live music, vintage vehicle displays and tractor rides, alongside a spread of local food and wine. The event doubles as both a cultural celebration and a conservation platform, raising awareness of Darling's fragile ecosystems while showcasing their beauty to a wider audience.
