Event information
The Cullinan Ultra-Gravel is a gravel-grinding odyssey from Cullinan to Dunkeld Country Estate.
Participants cycle along an unspoiled scenery, open gravel roads under a starlit night sky, and a tough 20-km climb to the finish on already-spent legs making this race one of the toughest one day races in South Africa.
Starting at sunrise, a maximum 500 cyclists have 24 hours to finish the race, and most riders can expect to finish at around midnight. The race is known for its gruelling terrain, with an elevation gain of 3200m for 24 hours.
The Cullinan Ultra Gravel 2024 will take riders and support crews over 255km of unmarked district roads. The journey starts at the historic mining village of Cullinan Sports Ground in Gauteng and finishes at the upmarket Highland resort Dunkeld Country Estate. The route challenges the riders both mentally and physically.
Entry fees include a finisher t-shirt for each rider, 5 water points, a virtual goody bag, safe routes, medical support and a meal.
Riders may ride solo or in teams of 2, 3 or 4.
