The club is dedicated to the promotion of local South African music, primarily acoustic balladry, folk, and light jazz. The emphasis is on self-penned works, but also stretches to classical, traditional folk, bluegrass and blues.
Performances are treated with respectful, enthusiastic attention, and musicians and audiences alike tend to love the cozy setting.
Providing a good forum for musicians to perform, collaborate, and network, it gives patrons an opportunity to experience musicians up-close in a typical 'voorkamer' (front room) format.
Knight himself is known for his unique ‘skollie rock’, so musicians are encouraged to share the stories behind their songs, and make lasting connections with like-minded music lovers.
Guests should bring their own eats, drinks and ice. Glasses, cutlery and crockery are available.
