The details
Cool Runnings in Cape Town is Africa’s first downhill tobogganing track. Groups and families go hurtling down a half-pipe in a bobsled as they speed through the track's twists and turns. The intricate course of steel tracks and wheeled bobsleds is safe and fun and allows for incredible views of the city and the scenic location.
The rides are fun for adults and children, with riding in pairs allowed to accommodate younger guests. The ride starts at the foot of the Durbanville slopes where riders settle into their toboggans before cables haul them to the start of the course, no hill climbing is necessary. Once at the top of the hill, guests begin the 1.25-kilometre ride and navigate seventeen corners, S-bends, and a tunnel, equipped with a brake lever in case they want to slow down.
Cool Runnings also features a bar, and a cafe serving boerie rolls, burgers, and pizzas. Free entry is also available for team-building events, school outings, and birthday or bachelorette parties. Children under three years are not allowed.
