The shop’s black enamel shelves are stocked with homeware and gifts, unique antiques, objets d’art, handwoven textiles, and a selection of artworks by established and emerging artists.
Chandler House serves as a design studio which Chandler founded in 2010. His designs deal largely with Cape-Inspired pieces and are all made in Cape Town. The shop-cum-gallery features a growing family of inspiring local artists and makers, and the Voorkamer is a regular highlight of Cape Town’s First Thursday festivities.
The Voorkamer celebrates everything old and new, rare and beautiful. It can be found in an 18th Century Cape Georgian House that includes an upstairs studio where Chandler handcrafts his bespoke commissions and large-scale tiled murals and prints. The gallery welcomes emerging new creatives who can be introduced to the world.
