The Cape Point Funicular is a funicular railway located at the Cape Point Nature Reserve.
Otherwise known as the Flying Dutchman Funicular, it is the only commercial funicular of its type on the continent.
The line runs from a lower station at the Cape Point car park, up an incline through the fynbos, to the upper lighthouse. The funicular leaves from the station every three minutes. There are two cars which can comfortably accommodate 40 passengers each.
Children under 6 can ride free. All children must be accompanied by an adult. South African pensioners 60 years and up, to get special funicular rates. Identification must be shown to qualify for this discounted rate.
