Event information
Just an hour from Cape Town, the Cape Canopy Tour is situated in a World Heritage Site within Cape Nature’s Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve, located in the scenic Elgin Valley.
In 2015 it was listed by Lonely Planet as the 2nd best new experience in the world. Cape Canopy Tour was the only African attraction to make the list. In 2019 it again gained Lonely Planet recognition, named as the 2nd best experience in Africa. It has been described by Lonely Planet as “vertigo-tinged fun” and “an exciting aerial perspective”.
The tour consists of eleven thrilling slides, some over 300m long, each ending on a platform constructed on the cliffs and fynbos-covered mountain slopes above the Riviersonderend Gorge. Highlights of the tour include its 13 elevated platforms, and a suspension bridge situated above a double waterfall.
The tour is a fully guided nature experience with a strong emphasis on client comfort and safety. Two trained guides accompany each group on the 4-5 hour tour. They provide information about the endemic fynbos and geology of this unique World Heritage Site.
It is an experience that offers a unique vantage point, and trained guides ensure a secure and informative journey. The Cape Canopy Zipline Tour is not only an adrenaline rush but also a chance to appreciate South Africa's natural wonders, making it a must-visit attraction for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
