Blue Mountain Trail

Event information

Following the success of the Green Mountain Trail, The Blue Mountain Trail was founded in 2015 to join the Green Mountain collection. This slackpacking, multi-day hike covering a 50km route through the UNESCO-declared Biosphere, offers sweeping views of the Overberg coastline. It also provides close-up access to a unique plant life that literally gives the mountain its blue tinge.
Wide open spaces, daily wine tasting, knowledgeable guides and overnights at Wildekrans Country House make this another bucket list experience in the Green Mountain collection.

Included are farm stays, delicious country food, wine tastings, and a fynbos guide. The trail is 50km in total and winds through wilderness, forests, fruit farms, and fynbos. The trail is rated three to four level of difficulty by Fiona Macintosh Slackpacking SA.

The Blue Mountain Trail starts with check in on a Monday afternoon between 4pm and 5pm and check out on a Thursday after lunch. As this is a working farm experience you walk on week days so that hikers get the full experience of the trail.

Rates
The rate is R12 450 including VAT per person sharing. A single supplement (currently R1 540 per day) is applied for single bookings. These rates apply until 1 August 2024.

The rate includes Cape Floral Kingdom knowledgeable guides, farm stays, all meals country style, snacks while walking, personalized wine tastings, a community walking stick and VAT.
